Hot Bitumen Grouting Stops Major Inflow, Philippines
Hot bitumen injection, in conjunction with regular cement based suspension grouts, was employed to stop a major tailings flow, which peaked at approximately 7,000 l/sec (111,000 US GPM).

ECO designed and directed a multi-grout, multi-technique post/pre-excavation grouting program to facilitate two mine slopes through water bearing strata. The grouting operation was executed by ECO trained miners.
A continuous 265 feet high, vertical grout curtain was installed from the underground donut tunnel around a shaft at a depth of 2,760 ft, under high hydrostatic pressures (400 to 1200 psi) using acrylamide based grout.
ECO designed and supervised the construction of a grout curtain to stop an inflow in excess of 50,000 gpm…
